Writing with pen and paper has been passed down through generations for Millenia. It's a part of who we are - as humans. But with the emergence of computers and keyboards, handwriting has been struggling to find its place.

It's an analog process in a digital world. Until now.

In 1996, a young Swedish inventor Christer Fåhræus, while writing his doctorate by hand, imagined a high-tech pen that could digitize his notes effortlessly. His groundbreaking idea became the world’s first digital pen, setting a global standard for how we blend analog and digital worlds. In 1999, our company was established to bring his vision to life. Our Digital Pen and Paper (DPP) technology revolutionized how handwritten content could be instantly transformed into digital formats, boosting productivity across industries from healthcare to design.

The technology to convert handwriting to digital has been around for a while, but the experience has been average at best. The arrival of A.I. has been a game-changer. A.I. can now recognise handwriting better than most people can, and as a result, digital pens really work!
